"Flu Fair" & Food Bank, Oct. 12th

FREE FLU SHOTS AND FOOD FOR THE COMMUNITY

Mask up. Lather up. And roll that sleeve up – for FREE flu shots!

The Shoals Community Clinic, in partnership with UNA Anderson College of Nursing & Health Professions and the Food Bank of North Alabama, will be hosting the annual community Flu Fair on Monday October 12th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the clinic has scaled down the event this year to feature FREE FLU SHOTS for the public. The Food Bank of North Alabama will also provide a Mobile Food Pantry with FREE FOOD for the participants and members of the community. The event will be free to the public and everyone is welcome.

Getting a flu shot in 2020-21 is more important than ever because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Flu vaccination is especially important to those with underlying medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes and heart disease. People with these types of conditions are at higher risk to develop serious complications from the flu. Health experts have noted that people can develop both flu and COVID-19 at the same time, and the results can be deadly.

The Community Flu Fair will be held at the Shoals Community Clinic located at 309-B WC Handy Place in Florence, Alabama. For more information please contact the clinic at (256) 760-4713.
